Dr. Fang Gang is sexologist and researcher in gender studies. He has a PhD degree in the sociology of sexuality. At present, he is an associate professor and director of the Research Institute of Gender and Sexuality at Beijing Forestry University. In 2013, Dr. Fang Gang was appointed as the first Chinese ambassador to the Unite-to-End-Violence-Against-Women (UNiTE) campaign by Mr. Ban Ki-moon, secretary-general of the United Nations. In order to promote the protection of sexual rights in China, Dr. Fang Gang became a blogger. Since 2008, Dr. Fang Gang published more than 1000 blogs covering all aspects of sexual rights, including gender equality, sexual harassment, domestic violence, prostitution, LGBT and sex education. His blogs attracted more than 50 million page views and 10.000+ comments. Dr. Fang has published more than 50 works in the field of gender and sexuality. Because sex is still a taboo in China, some of his blogs were deleted by Chinese censors, and most of Dr. Fang writings are published in Taiwan and Hong Kong, not in China.
