A Qiang is the director of PFLAG China and a LGBT human rights activist. Founded in 2008, PFLAG China was the first NGO formed by LGBT and their parents, friends and supporters. The aim of PFLAG China is to improve the living environment of LGBTs and their families, to eliminate harm and discrimination related to sexual orientation and to gain dignity and equality. Since 1997, A Qiang started to pursue human rights campaigns through blog platforms. In the past 7 years, A Qiang has published more than 1300 blogs and attracted 13.000.000+ page views. Since 2012, A Qiang has been a columnist of Helan Online, the Chinese-language website of RNW.
