Wang Chong is chief executive of Phoenix Core Project of ifeng.com. He is a research specialist at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Institute of Japanese Studies, researcher at the Center for Public Diplomacy Studies of Beijing Foreign Studies University, and researcher at the Charhar Institute. In 2004, he was invited by the State Department as the only journalist from China to report on the presidential elections. Mr. Wang was the first Chinese journalist who interviewed Barack Obama. In 2005, he received a scholarship from the International Journalists Program to work at Die Welt of Germany and to study the rise of China. In 2008, his book titled Behind the Ballot: Look through the U.S. Presidential Election and American Political Culture was published. In 2013, his second book titled The Gap was listed as one of the best sellers of the year. Mr. Wang started his doctorate study on Journalism in the School of Journalism and Communication at Wuhan University in 2010.
